United Voice Of Praise MT. OLIVE

LOVE GOD. LOVE PEOPLE. MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE

The message of The United Voices Of Praise is to Worship , Love and Sing. In light of that, we steward a message that radically changes lives.
We will therefore sing, teach and train people to live out its implications in their neighborhoods.

OUR CHOIR

The sound of the Choir draws the church into worshipful awareness of God in a unique and powerful way. The church is blessed by the choir each time they sing. The Choir is another way that we serve the Lord. It is an important part of the life of the church. The Choir adds to our experience of Christ in worship as it presents God’s message musically!

OUR MUSIC

The mission/vision of the CHoir is to enhance the atmosphere of praise and worship and invite God’s spirit into our presence as we lead in worship through music ministry. The choir is not designed to be a means of entertainment, but rather an instrument to witness and proclaim the word of God through song. We are made up of adult singers from a variety of backgrounds, the choir leads worship on Sunday morning during the worship service and presents at least one major production each year.

OUR MESSAGE

Singing a joyous noise for the Lord. It is the choirs privilege to raise their voices in beautiful music in praise to God on His day. To sing to hundreds of people, to blend their voices in one song and one message! The Choir is a blessing to an appreciative congregation and unusual opportunities of service in special events. This is not only the Choirs privilege but responsibility in serving the Lord so faithfully.

When the word “church” comes up in conversation, the first thing we think of is a building. We have this mindset that church is a place we go to on Sundays. As we get our family dressed, fight through traffic and get a good seat, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that we aren’t just going to church; we are the church. In 1 Timothy 5, Paul describes the church as people dedicated to doing whatever it takes to reach out and help others. We have a responsibility to serve and help others in need as the church. Caring for each other as well as those outside of the church is the quickest way to see Jesus change lives. Too often, we see a need and wait for the pastor or someone on staff to take responsibility. But that’s not the way church works. Each of us has been given skills, abilities and opportunities to serve. In Timothy’s church, for example, the women ran a widows ministry (1 Timothy 5:16), and elders directed church affairs while others were devoted just to teaching and preaching (1 Timothy 5:17). In the Bible, church is always a reference to people, not a place. The church is a body of believers that live out the Gospel in their words and actions. The church is at its best when people inside the building take Jesus’ message outside the building and serve those they meet.
